Description
Discover a unique Albariño from La Mancha, a warmer, drier region that brings a distinctive character to this beloved grape. Grown biodynamically at high altitudes (800m+), this wine retains its signature acidity, ensuring a fresh and well-balanced profile. Fermented with natural ambient yeasts and aged in stainless steel tanks, it preserves the grape’s delicate aromas and vibrant fruit expression.
Expect bright citrus notes, tropical fruit, and hints of wildflowers on the nose. The palate is elegantly textured, with a perfect balance of crisp acidity and flavours of apple, lemon, and melon, leading to a harmonious, fruit-driven finish. Perfect for lovers of fresh, expressive white wines, this high-altitude Albariño is a standout choice for those seeking organic, biodynamic, and naturally fermented wines with exceptional quality.
Bodegas Parra Jiménez was established in 1993 by the three Parra brothers, who pioneered organic viticulture in the region. In 2008 they went further pursuing their passion for the environment, adapting Biodynamic agriculture and on top of this they are free from pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers. The family also farm grains, garlic, cereals and sheep. A Biodynamic approach helps to form a closed sustainable and biodiverse ecosystem, the grains help feed the livestock, which in turn fertilize the crops. The endangered black sheep species they keep are used to make delicious local Manchego cheese. The estate is in the hands of the younger generation, Pablo Parra, who has steered the winery towards minimal intervention winemaking and who is very enthusiastic about continuing the biodynamic philosophy.
Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with seafood such as crayfish, prawns or with soft cheeses like the local manchego.
