Description
This exceptional wine is sourced from La Lastra, a 45-year-old single vineyard spanning 6 hectares. The vineyard’s unique terroir is composed of flat stones once used by the Romans to pave roads, which help retain moisture, store warmth, and enhance the wine’s distinctive mineral character.
Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, this wine delivers bold complexity with rich notes of brambles, black olives, balsamic, and cloves. The oak ageing adds layers of depth, creating a well-structured, full-bodied wine with a lingering finish.
Perfect for those seeking a premium, old-vine red wine with history, character, and a beautifully balanced expression of terroir.
In 1960 Valentin Pinuaga Salazar, first generation of winemakers in the Pinuaga family, established the winery in the village of Corral de Almaguer, province of Toledo. Today , the second and third generation of the Pinuaga family Valentin & Esther, maintain the old vines with much care and pride. They focus on crafting organic wines with a sense of place, capable of expressing the diversity in soils, grape variety, climate and biodiversity of the environment.
