After deciding they wanted to make a Slovenian single malt whisky, the creators of Broken Bones spent years learning and developing their techniques, experimenting with distillation and maturation until they achieved their desired outcome. It seems to have been dangerous work – one of the pair broke their leg during the early distillation, and the other broke their nose a few days later. At least it provided good inspiration for a brand name. This single malt matures for three years in a combination of Slovenian and American oak before being bottled without added colour or chill filtration.
