Lying on the slopes of the Sao Mamede range near Portalegre at an altitude of 500 meters, Quinta da Fonte Souto benefits from cooler and more humid conditions than the hot Alentejo plain.

The character of this high lying vineyard is reflected in the complexity, freshness and minerality of this Vinha do Souto. Made from equal parts from low-yielding Alicante Bouschet & Syrah, creating a wonderfully structured and balanced wine that has been aged in new French oak for 11 months.

Aromas of forest floor are enhanced by pine and resin with great freshness and evoke the senses. It is dense and powerful in the mouth with notes of spice, tea and tobacco. A truly impressive structured wine.
