Vira Cabecas is a wonderful full-bodied red made from a field blend of 8 grape varieties from a single plot. The wine if fermented in a cement vat then six weeks maceration before 21 months aging in old oak. A perfectly balanced red, with incredible aromas on the nose. Seductive, silky smooth with lush red fruits, good body and lingering taste in the mouth. A great value wine, wonderfully integrated red from Alentejo. Style: Full bodied warm red. Serving Temperature: 13-16ºC Food pairing: Matches well with a selection of cheeses & tomato based winter stews with warm spices. Lamb & slow cooked meat options. Aubergine, peppers & cumin dishes match really well with this wine. Be adventurous & try it with a bit of dark chocolate.
