Description
The Daftmill 2010 Summer Release exemplifies the understated yet exceptional craftsmanship of one of Scotland’s most charming and sought-after distilleries. Nestled in the heart of Fife, Daftmill is among Scotland's newer single malt Scotch whisky producers, and it has quietly established a reputation for its small-batch, high-quality whiskies. The distillery, housed in a converted barn on Daftmill Farm, commenced production in 2005, following the granting of its license.
In contrast to many larger operations, Daftmill adopts a refreshingly artisanal approach, producing whisky only during the farm’s off-season. With a maximum annual output of just 20,000 litres of alcohol, Daftmill is a true low-volume, farm-to-bottle distillery, rendering each release both rare and highly coveted.
Distilled in July 2010 and bottled in 2021, this expression was matured in 25 first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, imparting a classic elegance and depth to the whisky. With a limited release of only 6,250 bottles, it is presented at a natural colour, with an alcohol by volume of 46%.
