The 5th release of the Heavily Peated Kilkerran has been matured in a combination of 85% bourbon and 15% sherry cask. The nose is sweet, sooty peat smoke kicks off this malt, reminiscent of toasting marshmallows on a beach campfire. This combines with maritime influence typical of Campbeltown whisky, with notes of salt and fishing creels. The palate is host to ash and soot from the nose that is immediately apparent with hints of digestive biscuits. This is balanced with sweet hints of fruit salad sweets, foam bananas and red apples. The finish is host to red fruits and mineral notes.
