Description
4.1 on Vivino
This Contino wine has been made with 100% Garnacha from the Rioja region and aged in for 2 years. Intense aromas of red mature fruits such as cherry and redcurrant, menthol, minerality and balsamic notes. On the palate is a dense texture of sweet and unctuous soft tannins, red fruit and integrated oak.
Vineyard Manual harvest from Pajera, Central and Lentisco plots with vines ranging from 30 to 70 years old.
Alcoholic fermentation took 8 days in 100hl French oak vats, followed by 7 days maceration. Malolactic fermentation took place in second use, 300, 400 and 500l barrels for almost 2 years.
This year marked an unprecedented early completion of the harvest for the entire region of Rioja, but with a very positive balance in terms of quality. Thus, this vintage will be remembered at C.V.N.E. for being one of the earliest and shortest harvests to date, since we started picking at the end of August, approximately 20 days earlier than usual and completed harvest by mid-October.
