A deep ruby colour, the wine has an intense and vibrant aroma with prominent notes of truffles, spices, wild fruit and well integrated wood. it is particularly expressive on the palate. The palate is firm with tannins, hints of spices and a dash of salt inviting a very long and elegant finish.
The Tinta Frencisca grape variety dates back to 1790, when it was primarily located in Ansiaes and Sabrosa in the Douro. Nowadays, only around 40 hectares of the variety are planted in Portugal, almost all in the demarcated Douro wine region. In this Casa Ferreirinha specialty, elegance combines with tradition in an exceptional wine of which only 996 bottles are produced.
This wine must be decanted to get the most out of it and to separate from the natural sediment.
