A 5 year old limited edition release of only 75 bottles that have been out at sea for 155 days maturing. Bessie Ellen, one of Britain's last remaining wooden coasting ketches, carried a small barrel of Rathlee's Rum whilst cruising from Cornwall to the Western Isles of Scotland before heading home at the end of her sailing season. The rum was rested on the gentle waves in a beautiful craft bourbon barrel from Tennessee adding an extra flavour level to the finished product.
This limited edition release was granted a much faster maturation as a result of the voyage and was even periodically dunked in the North Atlantic (at the whim of the captain!). Rathlee's Sea Aged Rum is a distinctive, highly aromatic rum with a hint of salinity, perfect for connoisseurs and fellow rumheads.
