Made from a blend of 59% Syrah 33% Malbec 8% Malbec. This Malbec is made from different vintages to make a single wine.
"We used a greater proportion of Syrah from the best batch of the farm, and we added to Malbec 2017 a small proportion (allowed by INV) of the 2015 vintage that provided structure and robustness," said Soledad Vargas.
The Gran Corte has spent 15 months in Allier oak barrels. Clearly a good winter wine to accompany succulent stews and dishes, in which black fruit, musk and cassis liqueur stand out, along with notes of chocolate and dulce de leche. Fleshy, with round, almost chewy tannins; stout, oily and durable, to drink today or ten years from now.
