This kummel has lemon as the dominant aroma with caraway taking a back seat. The palate is a contrast to the nose, where caraway is prominent with anise and hints of lemon sherbet in the background. The finish is medium to long with anise making it all the way to the very end.
The brand with the wild boar’s head has a long tradition. Karl-Dietrich von Hardenberg established the Gräflich von Hardenberg'sche Kornbrennerei (“Count von Hardenberg’s Schnapps Distillery”) at the foot of the medieval castle ruins in 1700. The Korn (grain schnapps), that is considered one of the forefathers of grain schnapps brands in Germany, has been distilled there since that time.
