A beautiful 100% Merlot wine sourced from vineyards in the commune of Cassine, in the Asto zone. Originally planted to blend with Barbera, Alberto decided that the juice was that good it should be bottled as a single varietal. It is aged for 12 months in used French barriques with a further 24 months in Solvenian oak casks. The result is a spicy rich wine with forest fruits on the nose, plums and damsons. Complex on the palate with dark fruits, toasty cedar and vanilla with ripe tannins leading to a long, structured finish.
Food Pairing: Excellent with steak, Lamb and game dishes, very versatile.
