The Quinta de la Rosa Estate Tinto is made with traditional Port varietals; 60% Touriga Nacional, 12% Touriga Franca, 8% Tinta Roriz and 5% Sousão and the rest a mixed field blend.
The gentle extraction of tannins and careful use of oak create a well-structured, yet highly approachable style. A deep concentrated core of plum, bramble and black cherry fruit is matched with notes of wild herbs and a cooling mineral streak (think pencil shavings), representative of the Douro’s schist terraces. Despite the extreme heat of 2017, this wine maintains its refreshing acidity.
