This Black Arts from Bruichladdich is the seventh in this limited edition series and the third in this seres from head distiller Adam Hannett. Distilled in 1994 and matured in a cask that only head distiller Adam knows what it is for 25 years. This is an outstanding unpeated Islay single malt that has been matured entirely on Islay.
The aromas give notes of walnut, caramel, hints of strawberry fruit with violet and coconut undertones. The palate shows off the strength of the ABV with a little sharpness. There is oak, caramel, coconut, Turkish delight and spiced orange. Each sip reveals something you might not have noticed before. The finish is like it does not want to end - it just keeps going whilst providing notes of roasted nuts, tropical fruit and baked pineapple with butterscotch.
