Palazzo delivers exactly what you would expect from a Nero D'Avola, it is a powerful, smooth and rich red. Produced using the traditional Appasimento method where the grapes are left on the vine to ripen in the hot dry Sicilian sun.
Aromas of ripe red berries, cassis and soft delicate notes. On the palate it is soft, with a raisin and cherry like body which is balanced with some acidity.
Sicily's geography and climate are perfectly suited for the production of healthy, ripe grapes and quality wines. Palazzo del Mare's vineyard sites are situated at an altitude of 200-300m, ensuring cooler nighttime temperatures which preserve crucial acidity in the grapes.
