The 1979 vintage was initially matured in Bourbon barrels then transferred to 30 Years Old Matusalmen Oloroso Sherry butts before being returned to First Fill Bourbon barrels for a final maturation period to conclude the 39 year maturation.
The aroma is packed with Mediterranean oranges, figs, almonds and freshly baked ginger cake. The flavour profile is filled with tropical pineapple, roasted coffee and decadent Black Forest fruits.
Distilled in September and October of 1979, this is among the very last batch of whisky distilled at Tamnavulin in the 1970s. It was laid down in a combination of first fill Sherry butts and Bourbon barrels.
