This single pot stilled whiskey is a limited edition from Method and Madness. On the ever lasting quest for finding unusual casks led them to the Carpathian Mountains of Hungary where the soils are rich with volcanic matter that give rise to Quercus Petraea. The use of the Virgin Hungarian Oak and Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey gives a curious combination, with a very special outcome. Matured in bourbon barrels and then finished in virgin Hungarian oak.
On the nose it is oozing with treacle, toffee, toasted coconut and campfire ashes. On the palate it is silky smooth balanced with a bittersweet richness, dry and mixed with woodland air notes. The finish is dissipating spice, toasted oak and mountain mist.
