A powerful red from the fabled terraced vineyards of Quinta dos Quatro Ventos. The grapes are handpicked and sourced from selected vineyards in the Douro Valley where old vines are planted in the schist soil in the 'patamares' system. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at 30 degrees with maceration on the skins for 10-12 days total.
On the nose it is ripe plum, blackberry compote, hints of liquorice and warm spice. On the palate it offers dark plum notes, pepper and spice with ripe and rounded tannins.

A great red to partner with veal, lamb or a platter of hard cheeses.
