A fantastic well priced Pinot Grigio from Moldova, formerly part of the Soviet Republic. A soft and refreshing white with notes of lemon and subtle white blossom on the palate.
Moldova is located in South East of Europe, perhaps a more unusual fact to hear is that they are the 12 largest wine producing country in the world! The country shaped like a bunch of grapes lies between Romania and Ukraine. It has a long heritage of wine production and it has even been said that the Black Sea basin is where the vine originated some 7,000 years ago. In the last 10 years or so it has had a lot of investment poured (pun intended) into its wine industry.
A great choice to go with white meats and white fish meals.
