A sensuous blend of Barossa classic! This wine brings warm plum and raspberry fruit on the nose with hints of rocky earth, spice and violets. Lovely and ripe, medium to full bodied with juicy plum and raspberry on the palate also, with black cherry, spice and a lick of creamy oak. It’s a generous juicy mouthful with bags of fruit and spice, a hint of tea, good acidity too, keeping it vibrant.
These grapes are grown from various vineyards in the Barossa with an emphasis on the Western Ridge region. This is a blend of many different vineyards, the grapes are largely machine harvested. 70% Grenache, 20% Shiraz, 10% Mataro. Several different parcels are used- bright juicy wild yeast Grenache (Partly whole bunch) alongside other lots aged in old and new oak. Bottled after maturing 11 months in oak, it's deliberately made to be enjoyable young- lots of black cherry fruit with lots of spice and crunchy tannins.
The 2016 vintage was awarded Bronze at the 2017 IWSC.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy a glass or two with roast beef or lamb, as well as grilled meats and BBQs.
