The 16 year old single malt from Mortlach is inspired by the iconic and rewarding first bottling of the 16 year old, released back in 1992. It has been matured in Sherry casks to impart the rich, fruity fragrant notes to the classic and iconic Mortlach qualities.
On the nose it is bold and complex. We get stewed black orchard fruits with earthy tones and spice. On the palate it is robust and full palate coating texture. Light, leathery spice and notes of apricot and honey. Sweet and savoury, with dark, full and rounded intensity. The finish from this 16 year old single malt is long and complex, with a surprising sweetness at the end.
