This 12 year old edition to the Soleo Collection brings you vanilla, melon and cinnamon notes. The Glenrothes 12 years old was awarded a score of 93 at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2018. Sherry-seasoned oak casks define The Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky. Almost 90% of casks maturing at our Speyside distillery have previously held sherry, a wine made from white grapes grown near the city of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, Spain.

The Soleo Collection pays homage to the origin of whisky making by celebrating the flavoursome stages of the grape’s evolution. Soleo is the traditional sun-drying process which creates the foundation for crafting the finest sherry. The grapes are placed under the heat of the Andalusian sun, as they absorb the energy, they change from bright green and yellow to deep purple – signaling the perfect moment for fermentation.

Matured entirely in sherry-seasoned oak casks and 100% natural colour, this Collection introduces a multi dimensional flavour experience, uniquely shaped by the casks in which the spirit nurtured and matured.
