Description
Grapes are sourced from vineyards within the Graves District of Bordeaux. Botryitis (noble rot) is allowed to affect the wine, concentrating the sweetness and flavour. Hand-picked grapes, picked at the very late stage of the vintage. The vineyards are picked, on average, 3 times during the vintage to ensure that the grapes have good botrytis and healthiness. The grapes are treated very carefully during pressing, so as not to damage them and to maintain their delicate characteristics.
Tasting notes A classic botrytis noble nose; rich in honey and sweet floral tones with hints of citrus marmalade. The palate is rich and smooth with similar sweet floral and honeyed apricot flavours but with a faintly citrus note in the finish which makes it very moorish.
Food match The ultimate dessert wine - serve chilled with a host of fruit or cream based desserts. Try also blue cheese such as Roquefort or Stilton. Or serve as the French also do, as an aperitif, or with paté based canapes.
