Description
A delicate and complex Sancerre with great depth of fruit; the boisterous green aromatics often found in Sauvignon Blanc have been skilfully restrained, allowing fruity layers of green apples and lemons to show through.
Terroir plays an important role at this estate. Michel, Philippe and Benot Girard own 19 hectares of vines planted on the three different soil structures of Sancerre: Terres Blanches (clay and limestone), Caillottes (chalky limestone) and Silex (flint). They favour judicious blending of the separately-vinified cuves to create wines with real complexity and balance.
