This is a unique gin which has been aged in cask, but not just oak casks, cask's which have been made from Juniper wood. These are small casks of just 39.25 litres and the gin is rested in these for 30 days before bottling at 47% vol.
It has an herbal sweetness to start with followed by more intense juniper notes finishing with a long harmonious hint of citrus peel.
Hern Juniper Cask Gin was released in London on the 9th of September 2013. We were awarded the Contemporary Gin Trophy and TWO Gold Outstanding at this years International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). The first European gin distillery to receive this newly established Trophy and the first distillery to receive two Gold Outstanding in many years. Hern Juniper Cask Gin was also awarded a Gold medal at IWSC 2014, and Master medals at Global Gin Masters 2014 and 2015.
