Originally Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum was released in 2015 by the owners of The Rum & Crab Shack, a delightful rum and seafood restaurant in picturesque St. Ives, Cornwall. The business proved so successful that they have also recently opened another Rum & Crab Shack in Exeter. To our knowledge, it's the first spiced rum to be blended and bottled in Cornwall.
Dead Man’s Fingers is a blend of Caribbean rums from Barbados and Trinidad that warms he cockles and stirs the soul; in other words, it is very tasty indeed! We get saffron cake, Pedro Ximinez ice cream, caramel and vanilla with cinnamon, nutmeg and orange notes. Delicious!
This is a very easy drinking spiced rum that can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or mixed with cola; once opened, a bottle of Dead Man’s Fingers tends to disappear rather quickly. As you can see from the reviews, this is very highly rated by people who have tried it and is one of our best selling rums of all time.
The rum takes inspiration from Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, a premium rum from Venezuela. It was after one boozy night drinking this that Rum & Crab Shack owners Neythan Hayes and Chris McGuire decided to open the Rum & Crab Shack! You can read more about this on our blog ‘Dead Man's Fingers - Cornwall's Newest Small Batch Rum’.
