Description
A beautiful wine with an intense flavour of peaches and citrus fruit defined by a mineral streak running through and a hint of spice on the finish. Made from Old vine Grenache Blanc and Roussillon the grapes and harvested by hand in two stages one slightly later to provide riper grapes for greater depth and complexity. A small percentage is aged in new French oak barrels for 3 months, but only to add weight to the palate.
Domaine Lafage who recently welcomed Jeb Dunnuck from that Wine Advocate website, RobertParker.com to the winery. 'I struggle to think of another portfolio that encompasses anywhere close to this level of value and the average quality to price ratio for these wines is just hard to believe' he states.
Here's what he had to say about the 2013 Lafage Centenaire :"It exhibits beautiful minerality along with a white currant, citrus blossom and melon-nuanced bouquet. Pure, elegant and classically styles, with building richness and plenty of focus on the palate, it has to be one of the best values in white wine in world today. Don't miss it! 93 points."
