Situated at the centre of the small, historic town of Saint-Emilion, the estate has been family-run for the past four generations. The name of this tiny vineyard originates from the time of the Saracen invasions around 732, when the Moor armies set up an observation camp here - hence the name of Villemaurine, meaning the town of the Moors. Produced with passionate dedication by Jean-Franois Carrille, this wine expresses all the finesse and elegance of this exceptional terroir.

This wine is made in the village of Saint-Emilion itself and offers all the finesse and elegance typical of this prestigious appellation. Deeply coloured with dark purple tints. The evolved, complex bouquet opens with frank blackcurrant and blackberry over a weft of toasty, smoky notes, the result of ageing in elegant oak. The palate is delicate, smooth and creamy, with a lingering structure thanks to remarkably well-balanced tannins. A harmonious whole that goes to a mild, lingering finish of toast and jammy fruit. AGEING A wine which is worth cellaring for a few years – drinking nicely from 2015 but with an ageing potential of several years more. Blend 70% Merlot - 30% Cabernet Franc
