Description
Acquired in 1935 this estate borders the sea, not far from Fort de Brganon (the French Presidents summer retreat) in the Ctes de Provence appellation, and covers 170 hectares, of which 47 are planted to vines. Again, the land was entirely remodelled and replanted in the 1930s, to create this distinctive vineyard blessed with seaside atmosphere and a micro-climate permeated with sea-spray.
Grapes 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 10% Syrah
Viticulture Clos Mireille has 50 hectares of planted vineyards. The parcels used in the white wine slope down as far as the sea. The parcels are leveled into espaliers to enable even tilling and planting. The vines are pruned and trained using the double cordon method.
Wine Making Hand picking.
Highly selective grape sorting.
Extremely delicate pressing process at low pressure.
Fermentation in thermo-regulated vats followed by ageing in oak casks and vats for 6-8 months.
Bottled in spring.
Tasting Notes Colour: Peach colour with crystalline highlights.
Nose: Suave nose of white-fleshed fruit
Palate: Beautiful, rich, full structure. Harmonious balance perfectly poised between a fresh fruit vivaciousness and a generous richness . Lingering notes of peaches and nectarine on the finish
