Pappy Van winkle 15 years old Bourbon is made from a formula of 75% corn, 20% wheat and 5% barley results in a smoother and sweeter flavour which marries well with the extra ageing the Van Winkle bourbons experience.

No American bourbon or rye whiskey uses any caramel colouring; all the colour comes from ageing in the charred mountain oak barrels.
