This 12 year old breaks the mould as it is the oldest rye whiskey available today. The maturity it achieved whilst aging is quite obvious when you take the first sip. Oodles of rich, almost onctuous flavours that are ideally balanced with oak. These flavours include cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla extract. The nose is intensely fruited but also bears a tantalizing citrus zest note. The body is huge and almost chewable, and the palate is tremendously buttery with some sherry notes, a dash of dried fruits and some rich, creamy vanilla. The finish is long and elegant.
