    :Vya Extra-Dry Vermouth is a whole new idea in dry vermouth. The objective was to give equal weight to the vinosity of the base wines (a mixture of Colombard and Orange Muscat) and to the selection of botanicals. The resulting vermouth described as like being in a forest after a rain.

    Lillet (pronounced lee-lay), is a French Aperitif made from a blend of wine, liqueurs, fruits and herbs. It originated in the French village of Podensac and has been made since the late 1800s. Lillet Blanc is made from white wine and is drier than Lillet Rouge, its red-wine counterpart. Both are classically served over ice with an orange twist.

    Lillet is a blend of rigorously selected wines and fruit liqueurs, aged in oak vats for around 12 months, during which it is given the same care as the Grands Crus (great wines) of Bordeaux.

    This is a very pungent liquid. On the nose you immediately find aromas of liquorice, singed orange peel, vanilla and caramel. Over time, faint menthol notes develop into aromas reminiscent of dandelion and burdock. This vermouth is very full flavoured, the palate immediately detecting a bitter, earthy character which is very well balanced against the sweeter notes of liquorice, orange zest and muscovado sugar. A very bold, long finish, with the bitter/sweet balance staying with you to the end.

    Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir with ice to chill and dilute. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a fresh strip of grapefruit peel.

    2 parts Lillet Ros
    1 part Hendricks Gin
    0.5 part true grenadine
    0.25 part orgeat
    0.5 part fresh lemon juice
    2 parts soda water

    Short shake all ingredients except the soda water with ice; Fine strain over fresh ice in a tall glass. Add soda water and stir to combine. Garnish with a straw and freshly spanked mint.

    LElephant Ros
    3 parts Lillet Ros
    0.75 part peach liqueur
    1.50 parts fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice

    Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a spring of fresh thyme.

    Carpano had been inspired by a German aromatised wine and was a fan of German poetry. As a result, he named his new product after the German word for wormwood, wermut, which was frequently used to flavour wine at the time.

    Antica Formula is richer and more complex than most red vermouths and will make an excellent Bronx, Manhattan or Negroni.

    Established in 1786 Antonio Benedetto Carpano inveneted the first vermouth. Aromatic with a distinct aroma Carpano dry uses only the very bnest and most expensive botanoicals its its make up.
