  • Spinyback Pinot Gris 2016 75cl
    This is a light and easy wine style. Look for notes of peach and honey suckle on the nose. A pleasant acidity and biscuit like texture make for a mouth-watering experience, priming the palate for food. A perfect peritivo, try it with wedges of rock melon wrapped in prosciutto or an antipasto platter. For the main course it is a cinch with seafood, salads or lightly spiced foods.
  • Spinyback Pinot Noir 2014 75cl
    Harvest 2014 was notable for the excellent quality of fruit produced, thanks to a season that was warm and dry for Nelson. Excellent concentration of flavours and ripeness levels were reached several weeks earlier than expected, resulting in an early start to harvesting in the second week of March. Fortuitously this meant that when more than 200mm of rain hit the upper South Island mid-April our fruit was now juice, happily fermenting in the winerSpiny back Pinot Noir is perfumed with cherry, plum and a floral note. The palate is fleshy and mouth-filling with a subtle spicy finish. A great partner for lamb and light game or dishes with mushroom based sauces.
  • Spinyback Chardonnay 2016 75cl
    Pale straw in colour. Lifted aromas of ripe citrus and stonefruits are balanced with toasted almond, vanilla bean and orange blossom notes. The palate reveals ripe peach and rockmelon, with rich textural creaminess before finishing with a crisp refreshing acidity. Harvest 2016 was unusual in that it provided more than its fair share of challenges to test our nerve and skill as winegrowers. Spring rainfall was well below the norm—almost drought conditions, then a touch of hail, and then heavy rains. This resulted in a lot of pacing about vineyards and an intense obsession with weather forecasts! But by and by our patience and perseverance was rewarded with some intensely flavoursome wines.

    Organically produce Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are sourced from Maipu in the Mendoza which is at 2600ft above sea level. This young, juicy Cabernet has soft tannins making the wine immediately appealing with sweet and sour cherries, chocolate and black pepper with a lingering finish.
  • Corte Vetusto Espadin Mezcal Mesquite smoked 45% 70cl
    Corte Vetusto mezcals are made from only 100% mature agave. They are all joven (un-aged) and purposefully agaveforward, showcasing the magnificent variety of flavour from the agave and the impact of terroir upon them. They are incredibly balanced, elegant and complex as a result. The smokiness that features due to the artisanal production process, enhances the mezcal by adding depth and length, but is restrained enough not to dominate the wonderful agave notes. The Espadin Mezcal was awarded the Mezcal Trophy at the IWSC in 2017 and classed as 'Outstanding' with roasted agave on the nose, black fruits, smoke and earthiness. The palate has a lovely weight and mouthfeel, smoky with, herbaceous notes, dried fruits and wood spice.

    Made with rum distilled by the Fernandes Family in Trinidad, Butterfly Spiced infuses rum with vanilla and a mix of spices to produce a smooth spirit showing vanilla, toffee, long and rich in the mouth with a spicy finish.

    Antoine Amedie Peychaud who created the world famous Peychaud's bitters who began his career in the 1800's working in the French quarter of New Orleans. This Aperitivo takes it inspiration from the Bitters with a balance of bitter orange, but sweeter caramlised cherries and fragrant herbal notes.

    Best served over ice or in a long drink such as Royal fizz; 3 parts Champagne, 2 parts Peychaud's Aperitivo and a splash of club soda. Garnish with a twist of lime.

    Part of the Benromach Wood Finish range, Benromach Chateau Cissac has been aged in First fill bourbon casks before a finishing period of no less than 25 months in Chateau Cissac Haut Medoc red wine casks from Bordeaux in France. Rich and fruity with pepper and vanilla notes and a slight hint of smoke.

    Distilled three times which is once more than the norm at Benromach distillery, this Speyside malt has been aged in First Fill Bourbon casks until bottling in 2017. It is light and delicate with fruity aromas and hints of vanilla. The palate is savoury with pepper and hints of citrus lime followed by sweet vanilla, toasted oak, dark chocolate and hints of smoke.

    3 Pugs gin with its quirky bottle and comical label has brought out a blackcurrant gin. The gin uses a base of 8 botanicals (juniper, orris root, coriander, cardamom, angelica, elderflower basil and orange) and adds Blackcurrant juice to create a powerful sweet and spicy gin. Sweet at first followed by spice, basil and a peppery kick on the finish.

  • Meinklang Pinot Noir 2016 75cl (Organic)

    Run by the delightful Werner Michlits, the Meinklang vineyards are to be found on the eastern side of Neusiedlersee in eastern Austria close to the Hungarian border. Long summer days allow for the best physiological ripeness, whilst cool evenings give the grapes ‘resting’ time. Vineyards planted close to the lakes have high atmospheric humidity combined with warm air, the ideal conditions for Austria’s world-famous sweet wines: eiswein, or ice wine. With its clear flavour and well-balanced acidity, it is made from grapes picked when temperatures plummet below freezing.

    This Pinot has all the hallmarks of and excellent wine, especially at this price point. The nose has red fruits with earthy notes that draws you in. The palate is juicy but not over-blown, classy and silky in the glass. Can be served chilled, but may appear cloudy as the wine is unfiltered.

In the years since they bought the property, they have won gold medals aplenty, received glowing reviews from Robert Parker and countless other recommendations in wine publications at home and abroad for their fruit-driven, supple wines. Located at the highest point of the Gironde, the estate’s chalky clay soil rests on top of steep chalky substratum – perfect for the merlot grape, which thrives in these conditions. The 2015 vintage was excellent in Bordeaux produce rich ripe fruit.

    This 100% Merlot wine has ripe plum and dark fruit flavours, marked by well integtrated tannins and oak notes.   • Chateau Couronneau Bordeaux Superieur 2014 150cl (Organic)
    From the elegant Bordeaux region of France comes this Chateau Couronneau, made with Merlot grapes grown on the highest point of the Gironde. The result is a Merlot with rich flavour and excellent terroir, and a wine that makes for a perfect gift. This vintage is best when aged, between 3 and 5 years. The oak aging gives the wine a deliciously woodsy flavour, but without affecting the earthy notes for which Merlot is famous: tobacco, tar, cherries, plums, and dark red fruits. Perfect for those larger dinners we all have at this time of year whether as a guest or host, this ticks all the boxes.

    Topiary's widely acclaimed Chardonnay vineyard sits above the cellar on some of the rockiest and poorest soils to be found on the farm which give extremely small and concentrated berries. Subtle citrus cream notes on the nose combine with candied lemon, hazelnuts and vanilla. The palate is rich with a taut mineral freshness balanced by honeyed white peach and yellow plum. This would not be out of place amongst the best Chardonnays from Burgundy, with Tim Atkin awarding it an impressive 94 points.

  • Topiary Shiraz 2014 75cl

    In the glass the wine is beautifully restrained, with cured meat, lavender and purple petal notes. On the palate, it is luxurious and well defined, offering red cherry spice, Victoria plum and white pepper flavours. Meaty, spicy and unfiltered, this is very much a northern Rhône style, with clove and cracked pepper notes and a core of bramble and red berry sweetness.

    Topiary's 10 hectares of Shiraz vineyards are state of the art, with drip irrigation, high density planting and virus free plant material. Just 3,500 bottles were produced in the 2014 vintage, Topiary choosing to concentrate only on the very finest barrels at their disposal.

    Fowey River Gin is a joint collaboration between Haye Farm Cornwall oldest cider farm and Cornwalls oldest Potato grower Colwith farm makers of the Aval D'Or Vodka and Staffords Gin. These two farms are situated on opposite sides of the river Fowey and so began the idea for this gin.

    It's made with a combination of sugar beet spirit and triple distilled Haye farm distillate. This blend is then re-distilled with the botanical infusion which includes hazelnuts, citrus zest, macadamia amongst others. Dry and refreshing, a truly unique gin.
