The Manhattan is certainly a classic cocktail as its origins can be traced back to the mid to late 1800s New York. It is one of five cocktails named after the Big Apple's boroughs. This is a very boozy cocktail and isn't for the faint of heart as you have to be able to hold your liquor! There are many variations on this cocktail but here we will show you what is deemed to be the 'classic' serve. You will need a good rye whiskey, angostura bitters, a red vermouth (all included in the kit) and brandied cherries. The video below shows Ian Vasey of the Bedruthan Hotel in Newquay
making this old school cocktail.
