Edgertons Original Pink Dry Gin is the first pink dry gin distilled and bottled in London in small batches at 43% vol. It contains no less than 15 botanicals in its recipe including pomegranate and was created by the industry veteran Martin Edgerton Gill, creator and former owner of London No.1 Blue.
Pink gin was originally a mix of gin and spices used by sailors in the eighteenth century as a remedy for sea sickness. Nowadays, pink gin has captured the tastes of cosmopolitan drinkers and is a staple of trendy cocktail bars the world over.
Edgerton has crisp citrus top notes with a smooth, delicately spicy development thanks to the use of grains of paradise as one of the botanicals. It owes its gorgeous pink blush to pomegranate and a hint of mint comes from Damiana V, the invigorating Mexican plant that is said to boost sexual prowess. Yet, for all its originality, Edgerton is reassuringly and unmistakably in the style of great London dry gins.
