Chteau Meyre, situated in the heart of the Mdoc and of the regions of Moulis and Margaux, has been growing vines for over three hundred years.
In 1876, the estate was listed among the very finest Avensan wines and the 1932 classification ranked it as a Cru Bourgeois, a classification that was confirmed in 2003.
The property has a total of 17 hectares around the town of Avensan, 30 km to the north of Bordeaux. In 1992, the vineyard was extended by the acquisition of 2 hectares in the commune of Soussans in the Margaux appellation. The 2005 vintage has rich fruit, intense and long in the mouth
"Its nose of soft fruit is enhanced by subtle hints of cherry. The pleasant, smoothly round initial taste blossoms into a firm texture with a distinctive presence of still very lively tannins. The remarkably good balance of the wine with its finesse on the palate promises an excellent development with the passing years." Eric Boissenot, Oenologist
