Description
The grapes from Amador are much more tannic that those of Lodi. Therefore the Amador wines require at least 18 months of aging in small 60 gallon barrels. Because the Lodi wines are softer they are removed from barrel much earlier to preserve the fruit character (in Stainless Steel tanks)
What to eat with
:Perfect with all red meat dishes and especially BBQ food. Not too weighty, so will compliment many meals
Independents Note
:Black fruits, blackberry, black plum and black cherry give richness of flavour on the nose. This complex mix is there on the palate, the black plum pushing for dominance but towards the back there is a fresher spicier feel that lifts the flavours and gives some brightness on the finish. It is light on both nose and palate showing an attractive mix of bramble and raspberry. 87/100 points Derek Smedley MW
