Description

A truly remarkable Shiraz. This powerful yet extremely smooth and aromatic wine fills your mouth with lovely ripe, sweet fruit. It will amaze you with its unctuous texture and silky tannins. The Blue Eyed Boy on the label is Sarah and Sparky's son, Luke.

The grapes were grown on the Belladarren and Birchmore vineyards in Langhorne Creek and the Mollydooker vineyards here in McLaren Vale.

Barrel fermented and matured in 71% new and 29% one year old American oak.

The 2009 Blue Eyed Boy is 100% Shiraz from the Mollydooker Home Block Vineyard and Langhorne Creek Vineyards. The wine has an intoxicating spicy nose with hints of blackberry and strawberry. In the mouth the wine fully coated my palate with velvety tannins and flavors of plum, chocolate, coffee and blackberry. The purity of this wine was amazing. It was a unified presentation of fruit with a complex flavor profile. The lasting finish had evolving flavors that begged me to take another sip.
