Description

Concentrated dark berry aromas with a hint of spice. The wine is weighty with smooth tannins, a rich, ripe palate and a long, dry finish.

Today the estate, managed by Dieter Greiner covers 500 acres (380 acres Riesling / 80 acres Pinot Noir) and as a founding member of the VDP (Germany's finest estates) its acclaimed by journalists worldwide. The estates vineyards sites along the Rhine are managed by Stefan Seyffardt, including the monopole of Steinberg, Centgericht and Neroberg.

In the Vineyard

Maximum yield is 35hl per hectare.

In the Winery

After careful hand-selection Hllenberg's best grapes from the finest vineyard areas are developed in the 'Cabinetkeller'. The wine traditionally rests for at least 18 months in wooden casks before being bottled.
