Restrained youthful garnet colour. Incredibly intense Port-like nose showing the classic notes of Amarone - crushed raisins, pickled walnuts and leather horse tack. Powerful palate showing intense fruit sweetness, lively acidity, dense concentrated red fruit and great balance.
2004 Vintage: "possesses remarkable harmony and poise. At first the wine is rather brooding, but with the air it turns more delicate, revealing layers of tar, licorice, smoke, toasted oak and black fruits. The wine offers notable clarity and finessed tannins that frame the fruit from start to finish. Although the new oak needs some bottle age to reced a bit, this is clearly a remarkable example of modern style Amarone at its finest" Robert Parkers Wine Advocate, Issue 179, 93 points
2004 Vintage: "Lively, but savoury nose, black cherries, espresso. Quite rich, juicy, concentrated plenty of tannic grip, spicy, opulent, plenty of weight here, has power without excessive extraction." 4 Stars, Highly Recommended, Decanter, May 2009
