Description
John Dewar was one of the first to produce and market Blended Scotch Whisky, when he started his business in 1846. He died in 1880 and was succeeded by his sons Alexander and Tommy. It was Tommy who made the name of Dewar a
world wide whisky brand. He was an extrovert and showman and by 1894 his enterprise had established 32 agents in no fewer than 26 countries.
Aberfeldy Distillery built in 1898, was designed by Charles Doig of Elgin. The whisky produced at the distillery is a core component of all Dewar's blends. The distillery is now home to Dewars World of Whisky, where as well as a tour,

TASTING NOTE
Colour: Dark gold.
WITHOUT WATER
:Nose: Bananas and pears. Sweet vanilla influences.
Palate: Initially spicy - black pepper. Sweet but salty with nutty notes also present. A slightly fruitiness - freshly cooked apples.
WITH WATER
:Nose: Sweet and fruity barley sugar, cherry and blackcurrants.
Palate: Sweet, salty and a Sherry note. A hint of vanilla and citrus fruits.
Body: Light - medium.
Finish: Medium.
Cask Type(s): Refill Sherry casks.
Whisky Style: Light sweet Highland malt.
