Description
Tormore Distillery was founded in 1958, and was the first new distillery to be built in Speyside during the 20th century. Tormore was intended to be a showpiece, the distillery has crisp white buildings with ornate features, a fountain and curling lake and decorative landscaping. In the 1970s the numbers of stills was increased from four to eight.
TASTING NOTE
Colour: Dark straw.
WITHOUT WATER
:Nose: Fresh and fragrant with a delicate fruitiness present. With subtle hints of vanilla and defined honey notes.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with hints of liquorice and butterscotch. Creamy and very smooth.
WITH WATER
:Nose: Initially fresh and fruity, sweet with a subtle honey influence and a hint of cinnamon in the background.
Palate: Mouth watering - some pepper. Creamy, smooth and a defined sweetness.
Body: Light to medium.
Finish: Long and sweet.
Cask Type(s): Refill Sherry hogsheads.
