With bright gold colour and rich fruit power, this wine also exhibits botrytis influence. A refined palate of citrus flavours, wild honey, quince & pear characters offset by clean and long lingering acidity.
In the Vineyard
Harvesting is completed in three sweeps of the vineyard, with each selection taking only the most raisined fruit with the richest botrytis. Late harvested ripe Semillon fruit with natural Botrytis (Noble Rot), the vines are cordon cut to concentrate the fruit sweetness and preserve the fresh natural acid.
In the Winery
Matured for 8 months in new and one year old French barrels to add richness and balance.
2007 Vintage: "...reveals a plate to medium straw gold colour. The nose is quite pure with just a little of the honeyed/ muskiness that is associated with botrytis but with pronounced late harvest notes lemon curd, lanolin and apple tart aromas with hints of crushed stones and hay. Very sweet with a medium to high acid and a very pleasant silken texture. Long finish, Drink now to 2016. 90 points. The Wine Advocate Issue 188, 27th April, 2010
