2000 13.5% Perhaps more Bordeaux in style, the 2000 is quite approachable, but with serious cellaring potential. Winter and spring were fresh, but July was torrid (over 35C on some days) and August hotter than usual. Picking began early on 6th September; the grapes were sweet and tannic, with good acidity, and fermentation progressed steadily. Sweet, gamey, cedary and fresh, with spice and dried fruit notes. A complex, warm nose with smooth tannins and peppery acidity. Silver Medal, International Wine Challenge 2008.
