Description
Chateau Miraval is now well known for its wines, white wines under the Coteaux Varois appellation and red, white and ros wine under the Ctes de Provence appellation, the Guide Hachette called it one of France's top 500 wine producers. The wines now have organic status, certified by Ecocert.Soils are a mix of limestone and clay.
VINIFICATION
De-stalking and light pressing. Given 15 days maceration with two strengthenings of 20 minutes per day. 40% of the blend aged in new oak barrels for 9 months.
TASTING NOTES
Intense ruby red colour with purple hints, the nose is rich and complex with aromas of fresh red fruits, especially strawberries. There is a light touch of vanilla due to the oak ageing. The palate is rich with a great structure and a long finish of red fruits, light oak and chocolate notes.
FOOD MATCHING
Enjoy with classic Provenal meat dishes such as 'Daube Provenal' or strong cheeses. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will be perfect in 3 to 5 years.
