Description
Chateau Miraval is now well known for its wines, white wines under the Coteaux Varois appellation and red, white and ros wine under the Ctes de Provence appellation, the Guide Hachette called it one of France's top 500 wine producers. The wines now have organic status, certified by Ecocert.Soils are a mix of limestone and clay.
VINIFICATION
Grapes are left on the vine until optimum maturity, then hand-picked into small container and sorted in the vineyards. The grapes are then pressed and cleaned at low temperatures, followed by four weeks fermentation at 16C. The wine goes through a very light filtration before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
Lemon yellow in colour, the nose has wonderful citrus fruit flavours with a slight almond aftertaste. This is a truly unique wine.
FOOD MATCHING
Serve chilled as an aperitif with a selection of Provencal dishes such as 'bandade de morue' (salted cod). An excellent accompaniment to grilled fish dishes, bouillabaisse or even cheese.
