This "Superiore" wine is made from Verdicchio in the Classico region in the Marche. It is intense with soft peaches, apples, exotic fruits, hazelnuts, butter and minerals.
:The grapes are harvested from the 14ha Casal di Serra vineyard in Montecarotto. Ripeness is ensured by harvesting slightly later than usual, and yields are kept very low (80/90 hundredweight/hectare, less than half the usual for Verdicchio). Grapes are hand harvested and pumped into a Vaslin press. A proportion of the wine undergoes a cold soak process, which allows a better extraction of varietal characteristics. Following this, the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks for 5 months, after which it is bottle aged for a few more months prior to release.
