Description
This is a new bottling of Caol Ila, a 12 years old cask strength from first fill bourbon casks is the only Caol Ila to use unpeated barley. Made just once a year, it is prized by the blenders; although an Islay malt the call it Highland style. More balanced than in younger bottlings, the nose is fresh, then oaty, with beached dried seaweed. This special Caol Ila is rich, oily and sweet to taste., with saltiness and fresh acidity to add balance and a tingue-tingling finish.
