Description

The Balvenie Malt Master, David Stewart introduces his latest Scotch whisky expression; The Balvenie Tun1401 Batch 2, a sought after single malt previously only available at The Balvenie Distillery.

To craft TheBalvenieTun1401, Malt Master David Stewart transferred specially selected casks from across the ages to a specially selected marrying tun number1401. Three months later emerged an exceptionally complex single malt Scotch whisky.

Davids first batch of Tun1401 was released in 2010, for sale only at The Balvenies Speyside Distillery, but his small experimental release proved so popular with single malt enthusiasts that he has created a second batch, available this time without the need for a trip to the Scottish Highlands.

TastingNotes

:Silky smooth on the palate, The Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch2 has as a delicious complexity characterised by a floral sweetness, and citrus orange peel notes under pinned by tones of vanilla, honey and mature oak. The finish is mellow, rich and warming.
